Ingredients for Bhungara Bateka:

1 kg Boiled and Chopped Potatoes. (Cubes)
Puree Made from 3 Tomatoes.
Puree Made from 2 Onions.
3 tbsp Garlic Paste.
50 gm Pipe Fryums (Pida Bhungada).
Oil for Frying and Gravy.
2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder.
½ tsp Cumin Seeds.
½ tsp Asafoetida.
2 tsp Sugar.
2 tsp Coriander & Cumin Seeds Powder.

How to Make Bhungara Bateka:

Step-1.

Heat around 3 tbsp Oil, when oil got heated add cumin seeds. When Cumin seeds became brown add Garlic paste and saute it for a minute.
Add Onion Puree and again cook it for a minute. Now add turmeric powder and cook it for 20-30 seconds. Now finally add tomato puree and cook it until oil start separating from it.

Step-2.

Now add Red Chilli Powder, Asafoetida, Salt, Coriander & cumin seeds powder, Sugar and sauté it for a minute. Now turn the heat off and keep it aside.

Step-3.

Now heat Oil to deep fry our Pipe Fruyms. Fry all fruyms at a high heat.

Step-4.

Now add all the Boiled Potatoes to the Gravy and give it a nice mix, serve Spicy and Garlicky potatoes with Pipe Fruyms and enjoy.

Notes

1. Your Potatoes should not be over cooked.
2. Make gravy few hours before to get better taste.
3. You can keep gravy in fridge for few days (Just before using add little water in a pan and heat it and mix it with fresh boiled potatoes)
4. Fruyms should be fried at a high heat.
5. For better taste add Masala Peanuts, Lemon Juice, Sweet Chutney, etc just before serving to the Garlic Potatoes.
