Chana dal samosa or gram lentil samosa is also a very delicious and popular Indian street food recipe which is exclusively available at street food shops and carts. In India there are many different varieties of samosas are available like aloo samosa, tandoori paneer samosa, dry samosa, onion samosa, chinese samosa etc. But this chana dal samosa is bit healthier than of other samosas as it is prepared from gram lentils which are rich in proteins, fibers and other nutrients.

It is really very simple and easy to make plus requires very less time to cook is well. You can make this quick chana dal samosa for morning breakfast or as evening snacks or even you can also prepare this for any get together or parties is well. For making this chanay ki daal ka samosa gram lentils are cooked first along with salt and turmeric then stuffing is prepared from onions and some other spices. After the stuffing is almost cooked gram lentils are added and mixed.

Finally stuffing is filled in strips made like cone and sealed and fried in medium hot oil. This way the yummy and delicious samosas are ready, you can serve this with tomato ketchup or red and green chutney or any other chutney of your choice. Ingredients for Chana Dal Samosa:

100 gm Cooked Chana Dal with added salt and turmeric.
8-10 Samosa Strips.
3 tbsp Finely Chopped Onions.
1 tbsp Ginger Chilli Paste.
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder.
1 tsp Garam Masala.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
Salt as per taste.
1 tsp Sugar.
½ tsp Lemon Juice.
1 tbsp Coriander Leaves.
2 tbsp Dry Raisins.
½ Cup All Purpose Flour Slurry.
1 tbsp Oil.
Oil for frying.

How to Make Chana Dal Samosa:

Step 1.

First of all heat oil in non stick pan then add in onions and cook till become light golden brown then add in ginger chilli paste and saute for 1 minute at medium heat.

Step 2.

Now add in turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala and mix well with onions then add in cooked chana dal (While cooking make sure that dal should not be broken it must be whole).

Step 3.

Now add in sugar, lemon juice and mix well then add in dry raisins and cover and cook it for 1 minute at medium heat.

Step 4.

After 1 minute turn the heat off and add in coriander leaves and take out the stuffing in a bowl and let it cool for few minutes.

Step 5.

When stuffing become cool take one samosa strip and fold it in triangle shape then put about 1 tbsp stuffing in space then apply all purpose flour slurry at the edges and seal nicely and make samosa, make all the samosas ready this way.

Step 6.

Now heat oil in a kadai at medium heat, when oil becomes hot put 3-4 samosas in oil and fry till become till become nice golden brown, while frying make sure that oil should be medium hot.
Fry all the samosas then take out in a serving plate and serve hot and enjoy.
