The name suggests the main ingredients of this Indian dessert dish, it is made from dates, dry fruits and some other ingredients and Katori means “Bowl”, it is shaped like a small bowl. It is not just the delicious one but it is also a very healthy Indian dessert recipe to make. Dates and dry fruits both are very healthy ingredients and have many healthy benefits also.

Ingredients For Dates Dry Fruit Katori:

200 gm Seedless Dates.
100 gm Khoya.
¼ Cup Cashews.
¼ Cup Almonds.
¼ Cup Pistachios.
2 tbsp Poppy Seeds.
1 tbsp Milk Powder (Optional).
1 tbsp Ghee.
2 Pinch of Cardamom Powder.
1 Pinch of Cinnamon Powder.
1 Pinch of Green Colour. (Optional).

How to Make Dates Dry Fruit Katori:

Step 1.  
Dry roast the poppy seeds at a medium low heat till they are aromatic, it will take a minute or less.

Step 2.
Now cut nuts into small pieces and dry roast them also for 1-2 minutes at a medium low heat.

Step 3.
Now chop dates into small pieces then add milk powder and cinnamon powder, grind it and make fine paste from it.

Step 4.
Heat ghee in a non sticky pan, add dates paste in it and saute it till it became soft and pulpy at a medium low heat, cook it till it get a nice ball. (It may take 4-7 minutes depending on quality of dates)

Step 5.
Allow the mixture to cool a bit then give the shape of katori, spread poppy seeds in a plate, roll the katori on it so it get coated with poppy seeds.
Refrigerate or keep it aside for 1-2 hours.

Step 6.
Add chopped nuts, Khoya, cardamom powder, bit of milk powder and green colour, mix it well and fill the katoris.
