For making this quick farali patties recipe its outer layer and stuffing are prepared separately then deep fried in medium hot oil. Not just for fasting days but you can also prepare this potato patties recipe in normal days and have in morning breakfast or as evening snack. It goes really very good when served with sweet chutney but you can also serve with any other chutney of your choice.

Ingredients for Farali Patties:

For Outer Layer:

500 gm Boiled Potatoes.
Farali Salt as per required.
4 tbsp Arrow Root or Tapkir Flour.

For Stuffing:

100 gm Fresh Grated Coconut.
1 tbsp Smashed Potatoes.
2 tbsp Roasted and Churned Sesame Seeds, Fennel Seeds and Peanuts.
1 tbsp Ginger Chilli Paste.
Farali Salt as per required.
1 tbsp Dry Raisins.
1 tbsp Coriander Leaves.
1 tbsp Powdered Sugar.
1 tsp Lemon Juice.
Oil for Frying.

How to Make Farali Patties:

Step 1.

 First of all for making outer layer smash the potatoes and take out about 1 tbsp of smashed potatoes which we’ll use in stuffing the add about 2 tbsp tapkir or arrow root flour in rest of smashed potatoes.

Step 2.

Now add in farali salt as per required and mix it well so the outer layer is ready keep aside.

Step 3.

Now for making stuffing put the grated fresh coconut in bowl then add in ginger chilli paste, salt, sugar, lemon juice, dry raisins, peanuts and sesame seeds powder, coriander leaves an smashed potato and mix all the ingredients well.

Step 4.

Now make small balls from stuffing, now first grease hands with oil nicely then take little smashed potato mixture and make thin patties from it then put one stuffing ball at centre and cover it well from all ends, make all the patties ready this way.

Step 5.

Now put the tapkir or arrowroot flour in a plate and roll the patties on it nicely so it can be coated nicely and don’t get break while frying.

Step 6.

Now heat oil in a kadai, when oil gets heated put patties and fry till become light golden brown then take out in a serving plate and serve with sweet chutney and enjoy.
