Gond Pak Recipe | Indian Dessert Dish.

Gond pak is one of the dessert recipes that is usually served as a sweet. It is mainly made in wintery days in Gujarati houses. This is one my favorite winter recipe along with churma modak and mesub Pak. It is primary made from edible gum which is also known as gond in Gujarat and easily available at market or any grocery shop.

It is quite sticky to eat but taste is great. It is proper ethnic Gond pak recipe in which gum and ghee is fried on tawa and crushed. Then roasted wheat flour, cashwed, cardamoms and sugar syrup are added in to a crushed edible gum. Sometimes mawa is to be added for enhanced flavor. Serve it hot or cold both. It can be served alone or with any other meals or dinner.

This easy Gond pak make any occasion a special one. Whether it is Diwali or Holi or Navratri, it can be served. It will be also liked by kids as well as adults. Because it gives heat and energy to body, it is perfect for wintery days. This edible gum is pull out from acacia trees which is grown in all over Africa and some Indian subcontinents like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab.

There are many few recipes that is rarely made from edible gum (Gond). Mostly, panjari and Gond ladoos are made from edible gum. If you are finding more Indian dessert recipes, you should check on mango jalebi, sesame modak and gulab jamun, it might interest of yours.

Ingredients for Gond Pak Recipe:

4 Cups Wheat Flour.
1 ½ Cup Ghee.
1 tbsp Almonds and Cashews.
1 tbsp Melon Seeds.
1 Cup Gum (Dink).
2 Cup Sugar for Syrup.
1 Cup Water.
3-4 Black Cardamoms.
1 tbsp Poppy Seeds.

How to Make Gond Pak:

Step 1.

First of all take a non stick pan, heat ghee and fry the gum on the slow flame till it will become bubbles and transparent then remove it from pan.

Step 2.

Now roast wheat flour in the remaining ghee till it becomes nice golden colour on slow heat.
Now crush the gum not powdered and add in roasted wheat flour.

Step 3.

Now chop almonds, cashews, cardamoms and poppy seeds, roast them for 2 minutes then cool it lightly.

Step 4.  

Now add sugar and water together boil it to make 2 thread consistency syrup, now add dry mixture and mix all together.

Step 5.

Pour the mixture into greased tray, tap tightly to spread evenly, cover with foil and cut into any shapes as you want and serve it.
