This gujarati handwo is fried dish mainly prepared from rice and lentil flour batter, curd or yogurt, sesame seeds, ginger chilli garlic paste and some other spices. For making this quick gujarati handwo, batter preparing is very important and if your batter is prepared accurately then and then only you’ll get the good taste. After making batter it requires 1-2 hours to set and some peoples give over night rest to batter to set. So to consume time you have to make batter before 2 hours of making this yummy tummy gujarati Handvo.

You can serve this easy gujarati handwo with tomato ketchup or any other chutney of your choice or with a hot cup of tea or coffee. Ingredients for Gujarati Handwo:

1 Cup Rice and Split Bengal Gram or Chana Dal Flour.
2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Chilli Paste.
3 tbsp Sour Curd.
2 tbsp Jaggery.
1 tsp Ajwain.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
1 tsp Mustard Seeds.
1 tsp Sesame Seeds.
Salt according to taste.
3 tbsp Coriander Leaves.
2 tbsp Oil.

How to Make Gujarati Handwo:

Step 1.

First of all take rice and Split Bengal Gram or Chana Dal flour in bowl then add sour curd and little water, mix well and give it rest for 1-2 Hours.

Step 2.

After 1-2 hours add salt, turmeric powder, ginger garlic chilli paste, coriander leaves, jaggery and ajwain in flour batter, mix all the things very well.

Step 3.

Now heat one iron tava or griddle, when it gets heated put 1 tbsp oil, when oil gets heated add mustard seeds and sesame seeds and let them crackle.

Step 4.

When mustard and sesame seeds starts crackling immediately put batter on it, make sure that it should be 1 inch long and base should be as thick as of pizza.

Step 5.

Now cover it with lead and cook it for 10 minutes at medium low heat, after 10 minutes sprinkle some sesame seeds on top, put 1 tbsp oil on griddle and turn the side, cook this side also for 10 minutes at medium low heat.

Step 6.

After 10 minutes turn the heat off and take out the handwo in a serving plate, cut it into four parts using pizza cutter or any other cutter and enjoy.

Notes

Make this gujarati handwo on iron tava or griddle as it not taste good if you make on nonstick tava or griddle.
For making one handwo you will need 1 tbsp for one side roasting, means two tbsp for 1 handwo.
