Namkeen Dalia Recipe | Vegetable Dalia Recipe.

Namkeen dalia is one of the very healthy Indian breakfast dish which is very delicious in taste. This is the one very famous and popular North Indian main course or breakfast dish. Basically dalia is nothing but the broken wheat, in India lots of sweet and savoury dishes are prepared from dalai. This is also a very simple and easy recipe to make at home.

This easy namkeen dalia is very nutritious and healthy Indian recipe which is low in fat and cholesterol, this dalia is savoury in taste and really very good for healthy breakfast for your kids, youngsters and for the elders. It is not just popular in north India but in other parts peoples also cook this yummy recipe is well.

If you have stomach problem or digestion problem then this is the one best food to have and doctors also suggests this dish for the better digestion. You can make this dalia thick or thin according to your taste you just have to add more or less water and both the consistency gives a unique and delicious taste. Ingredients for Namkeen Dalia:
200 gm Dalia.
1 Chopped Potato.
1 Chopped Green Tomato.
50 gm Green Peas.
7-8 Florets of Cauliflower.
1 Inch Grated Ginger.
2 tsp Clarified Butter.
Pinch of Asafoetida.
1 tsp Cumin Seeds.
½ tsp Coriander Seeds Powder.
¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
½ tsp Garam Masala.
Lemon Juice of 1 ½ Lemon.
Some Fresh Coriander Leaves.
Salt To Taste.
How to Cook Namkeen Dalia:

Step 1.
Heat 1 tsp clarified butter in a pressure cooker when butter gets moderately hot add dalia and saute it for couple of minutes.
When it starts releasing good aroma take it out in pan.

Step 2.
Again add 1 tsp butter or ghee in pressure cooker, now add cumin seeds, asafoetida, coriander seeds powder and red chilli powder (Make sure that ghee should not be too hot else spices will burnt).

Step 3.
Now add potatoes, cauliflower florets, green peas and ginger in it and mix it very well and cook it for few minutes.

Step 4.
Add 2 bowls water (remember this 1 bowl dalia requires 2 bowl water) and tomatoes and mix it very well.

Step 5.
Now add dalia and mix it nicely then add salt and again mix it well, now cover it and cook it until whistle is about to blow.
Now lower the heat and cook it for further 3 minutes at a lower heat.

Step 6.
Now turn the heat off and let it cook on its own steam in pressure cooker, it will take about 10 minutes.

Step 7.
After 10 minutes give it a check if there is no steam then add lemon juice, fresh coriander leaves and bit of garam masala, mix it gently and serve it hot.
