In Gujarati Pudla cooked most often in village as compared to the Gujarati cities. In village we still have original recipes of Besan Pudla made from the Indian Spices and Herbs. It is a very good Gujarati Dish which gives very unique flavored and healthy too.
I personally like Besan Pudla very much and it is one of my favorite Monsoon or winter special recipes. If you like Besan or Gram Flour then this will be the best recipe for Besan or gram flour which you can serve to your hungry kid or elder in no time. 150 Gm Besan or Gram Flour.
1 Small Onion.
1 Tsp Garlic Paste.
1 Tsp Ginger Paste.
1 Tsp Asafoetida or Hing.
1 Tsp Coriander and Cumin Seeds Powder.
3 Tbsp Oil.
1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder.
Some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves.
Salt to Taste.
Pudla | Indian Recipe | Video Recipe.
- 150 gm Besan or Gram Flour.
- 1 Small Onion.
- 1 tsp Garlic Paste.
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste.
- 1 tsp Asafoetida or Hing.
- 1 tsp Coriander and Cumin Seeds Powder.
- 3 tb tsp Oil.
- 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder.
- Some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves.
- Salt to Taste.
- Take a big mixing bowl put 150 gm of Besan or Gram Flour in it, add around 1 tsp of Garlic Paste, 1 tsp of Asofoetida, 1 tsp of Coriander and Cumin Seeds Powder, 1 small finely Chopped Onion, Salt and some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves and 1 tsp of Graded Ginger to make Better.
- Mix all the Ingredients very well, now add Water and you have to add and mix Water untill Better get's thin and Consistance. Add Red Chilli Powder, so now our Better is ready.
- Heat the Tawa or Griddle, when it get's hot enough, put Better at centre of Tawa, shape it, put Oil around the Pudla, now separate the edges and turn the side.
- Put little bit of Oil on to the Pudla so it cooks perfectly, cook each side for 1 min. Now turn the side and cook it at medium low heat for 1 min.
- So this is it take it out and cook remaining Pudla's similarly. Now it is the time to serve it.

In this episode of everyday special you are going to see a Traditional recipe of Spicy Pan Cake’s, this Pan Cake’s are known as Pudla in Gujarat and this is very super delicious Pan Cake’s, most of the Ingredients are available in any Kitchen of the World. so let’s start making our very simple, easy and delicious Indian Gujarati Pan Cake’s (Pudla).
For this you will need 150 gm Besan or Gram Flour, 1 Small Onion, 1 tsp Garlic Paste, 1 tsp Ginger Paste, 1 tsp Asafetida or Hing, 1 tsp Coriander and Cumin Seeds Powder, 3 tbsp Oil, 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder, some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves and Salt to Taste.
First a fall put Besan or Gram Flour into a big mixing bowl, add around 1 tsp of Garlic Paste, 1 tsp of Asafetida, 1 tsp of Coriander and Cumin Seeds Powder, 1 small finely Chopped Onion, Salt and some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves, now I am going to Grade Ginger around 1 tsp, mix all the Ingredients very well, now add Water, you have to adding and mixing together so we can make perfect Better, we need very Thin and consistence Better, I have added almost 1 glass of Water in 150 gm Gram Flour, now add Red Chili Powder, you can add red chili powder according to your taste, it is important to add Red Chili Powder, so our Better is ready.
Heat Griddle or Tawa, it is hot enough so put Better at the centre of Tawa, don’t worry about Shape and Size you can make perfect in few tries, add Oil around the Pudla, you have to separate the edges gently, turn the side, look at this it’s looking very beautiful, you have to cook it for 1 min each side, check it regularly so it can cook perfectly, turn the side, put little bit Oil on to it and cook it for 1 min at medium low heat, so this is ready and I am going to take this out, make the remaining Pudla similarly.
Now it’s the time to serve very special Gujarati dish, put this into a plate and half Onion with this, you need nothing with this. So this is it my very simple, easy and delicious Pan Cake’s are ready to serve.
