Puran Poli Recipe | Sweet Indian Flatbread.

Puran poli recipe is originally Maharashtrian cuisine sweet recipe, it’s a sweet flatbread Indian recipe cooked specially at the time of ganesh Chaturthi in Maharashtra. Along with this puran poli they also prepare churma modak, coconut ladoo and much more. Puran means the sweet filling and poli means flatbread in Marathi language. Not just in Maharashtra this sweet dish is also very famous in gujarat and here we people prepare this dish for many festivals and occasions.

This Indian sweet recipe is really very simple and easy to make as well as requires very less time to cook is well. Mainly this quick puran poli is prepared from binded wheat flour, cooked split Bengal gram or chana dal, jaggery, cardamom powder and ghee. The best thing about this recipe is that you only need 5 ingredients which are easily available in almost every kitchens of the world. With being delicious this flatbread is also very healthy and nutritious too.

In gujarat people add lots of ghee in this puran puri as compared to the Maharashtrian puri but taste of both remains mind blowing and mouthwatering. Here you will see this sweet recipe with very simple step by step instructions so you can make it at your home without any difficulties and hustles. Along with this you may also like malpua, sesame modak, tirupati laddu etc……

Ingredients for Puran Poli:

1 Cup Binded Wheat Flour.
1 Cup Cooked Split Bengal Gram or Chana Dal.
½ Cup Jaggery.
1 tsp Cardamom Powder.
Pure Ghee as per required.

How to Make Puran Poli:

Step 1.

First of all take cooked chana dal in a non stick pan, then turn the gas on and add jaggery in it, cook chana dal and jaggery till both get mixed nicely then add 1 tsp ghee.

Step 2.

When mixture leaves the pan that means the mixture is ready, now add cardamom powder and mix well, turn the heat off and let the stuffing mixture cool for few minutes.

Step 3.

Now take binded wheat flour and make small equal sizes of balls from it, take one ball and roll it like a puri then put little stuffing mixture at centre and fold from every side.

Step 4.

Now again roll it like a puri, make all the puran poli similarly, now heat a tawa or griddle and put one puran poli on it, now lower the heat and cook puran poli one side then turn the side.

Step 5.

Now apply ghee on it and cook both side nicely then take out in a serving plate and serve hot, make all the puran poli ready this way.
You can also apply ghee after cooking both sides or while cooking it depends on you.
