Rice kheer is one of the very popular Indian sweet dish from north India side. This rice pudding is mainly prepared from rice, milk, sugar and some dry fruits. It’s a best sweet or dessert recipe to make for any festivals or celebrations or you can also make it as after meal dish. The best thing about this Indian kheer is that it don’t requires any special cooking skills as it is a simple and easy to make plus it can be made in just few minutes.

This quick rice kheer is really very tasty and delicious in taste, with being so yummy it is also very healthy and really very good for kids and adults. For making this sweet pudding dish more delicious we have added saffron strands and dry fruits like almonds, pistachios, chironji etc. But you can also add any other dry fruits of your choice is well. Small kids love to have sweet dishes but every sweet is not healthy but this one I must say best to make for kids.

Ingredients for Rice Kheer:

80 gm Rice Soaked in water for 2 Hours.
1 ½ Litre Full Fat Milk.
½ Cup Sugar.
2 tbsp Raisins.
10-12 Saffron Threads.
2 tsp Crushed Chironji.
10-12 Chopped Almonds.
8-10 Chopped Pistachious.
½ tsp Cardamom Powder.
½ tsp Desi Ghee.

How to Make Rice Kheer:

Step 1.

First of all heat ghee in a kadai, now add in rice and cook it for just 20-30 seconds then add in milk and mix well.

Step 2.

Now add in saffron, chironji, almonds, pistachious, raisins and mix all things well and cook till milk starts boiling. (save some almonds and pistachious for garnishing).

Step 3.

When milk starts boiling lower the heat and cook it for further 40-45 minutes, stir in between after every 5 minutes so milk don’t stick to bottom.

Step 4.

After 40-45 minutes add in sugar and cook it for 1-2 minutes then add in cardamom powder and mix well, now turn the off.
Take out kheer in a serving bowl, garnish with some chopped almonds and pistachious and serve hot.
