Samosa Recipe | Indian Street Food Recipe.

Samosa India’s one of the most popular fast food or street food recipe which everyone likes to eat. Mainly it is prepared from all purpose flour, potatoes, green peas and some other spices. From the starting of the till evening samosas are available, but samosas from street foods shops and carts are not healthy as we don’t know how they make and ingredients used are fresh or not so it is better to make at home. Here will show you the best samosa recipe with the same taste which you get from any foods shops and carts.

This quick and easy samosa can be prepared in just quick time with very few simple ingredients. And all the required ingredients are very simple and commonly available at grocery shops and market is well. Ingredients for Samosa:

For Outer Layer:

4 Cup All Purpose Flour or Maida.
¼ Cup Desi Ghee.
Salt as per taste.

For Stuffing:

8 Medium Size Boiled and Peeled Potatoes.
Some Green Peas.
1 ½ Inch Finely Chopped Ginger.
1 Finely Chopped Green Chilli.
Some Raisins.
Few Cashew Nuts Cut in Small Pieces.
1 tsp Cumin Seeds.
½ tsp Garam Masala Powder.
½ tsp Amchoor Powder.
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
1 tsp Coriander Powder.
1 tsp Fennel Powder.
Pinch of Asafoetida.
Salt according to taste.

How to Make Samosa:

Outer Layer:

Step 1.

First of all add around 1 tsp salt in all purpose flour and around ¼ cup desi ghee and mix well, it should be crumbly after mixing if not then there is more or less ghee is added, now add water as per required and knead dough from it.
Knead dough little harder than the dough of puri or chapattis, keep the dough cover aside for 20 minutes.

For Stuffing:

Step 1.

Heat some desi ghee in a kadai, when it becomes little hot add chopped cashews in and fry for little time then take out in small bowl, don’t fry cashews in very hot ghee, in the same ghee fry raisins for few seconds then take it out.

Step 2.

Now in the same ghee add cumin seeds, coriander powder, fennel seeds, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, pinch of asafoetida and mix all the spices well.

Step 3.

Now add in green peas, ginger, green chillies and mix well with spices and saute for few seconds, now mash the potatoes with hands and add to spices then add salt and amchoor powder.

Step 4.

Now mix the potatoes with other spices well and cook the mixture for further few minutes, when mixture is cooked nicely add in fried cashews, raisins and mix well, turn the heat off and take out the potato mixture in a bowl.

Step 5.

Now take dough and make small balls from entire dough, make the balls as the size of samosas you want, roll out the balls using rolling pin and board, roll them little long not round, now divide it into two parts using knife.

Step 6.

Now apply all purpose flour slurry on the edges of rolled puris, give the shape of samosa to puri and press the edges so they stick nicely, make cone shape, now take little stuffing and put in cone and seal the samosa well.
Make all the samosas ready this way.

Step 7.

Now heat oil for deep frying samosas in a deep pan, when oil gets heated put samosas in oil and fry them at medium flame till become nice golden brown, stir them every now and then so it can be cooked nicely from every sides, it will take around 8-10 minutes to fry.
Now take out samosas in paper napkin so it will soak excess oil then serve with tomato ketchup or any other chutney of your choice.
