Soojy balls are the most unique version made from semolina and corn which everyone loves. It is crunchy ball at outside and soft at inside. Whether for breakfast or as a starter or as a snack, it will well goes at anytime, anywhere. If you are travelling or go for picnic, it will be a perfect and convenient snack that can be having with green chili or red chili chutney or tomato ketchup.

By adding the sweet corn kernels, it will be perfectly balanced and the outer cottage of refined flour and breadcrumbs will give complete crunchiness to soojy balls. Usually, capsicum and corn kernels are added but you can also add green peas or blanched beans. As the cheese is optional, you can add or skip it.

Ingredients for Sooji Balls:

1 Cup Sooji or Rawa or Semolina.
2 Cup Milk.
1 Finely Chopped Green Chilli.
1 tsp Chopped Chilli Fakes.
2 tbsp Boiled Corns.
Some Chopped Coriander Leaves.
3 tbsp Dry Bread Crums.
1 tbsp Plain Flour.
2 tbsp Oil.
Salt to Taste.
Pinch of Pepper Powder.
Oil for Deep Frying.

How to Make Sooji Balls:

Step 1.

First of all heat oil in a non stick pan, when oil get hot enough add sooji or rawa, roast it for 5-7 minutes or it turns into light brown colour at a medium low heat.
Now add milk and cook it till milk get reduced then add salt to taste, boiled corns, finely chopped green chilli, chilli flakes, some coriander leaves.

Step 2.

Turn the stove off and mix all the ingredients very well, shift the mixture into a bowl and let it cool at room temperature.
Make small balls from the stuff and keep it aside, in maida flour add salt to taste, pepper powder, water as per required and mix it well to make thin maida slurry.

Step 3.

Dip all the balls one by one in slurry then coat them with dry bread crums, now heat oil for deep frying, when oil get heated deep fry the balls on medium to high flame till the balls become golden brown.
Delicious sooji balls are ready to serve, garnish it with mit leaves and serve with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
