Sweet Potato Sheera Recipe |Â Shakarkand Ka Halwa.

Sweet potatoes are better known as ‘Sakarkand’ or ‘Ganji’ in India. It is a high calorie vegetable and thus it is often substituted for potatoes during Fast. You can simply boil it and have or you can also try out this delicious dessert. If you do not get sweet potatoes then you can make it with potatoes as well.
I like sweet potato and to eat it just plain boiled, but for DH he likes sweet potato halwa, I came to know there is also halwa made of shakarkhand/sarkaraivalli kizhangu from him only. But I always make him eat boiled sweet potato and for a change I thought of making halwa for the year’s last day to end the year with a sweet note. This halwa is one of the easy halwa to prepare and doesn’t take much effort, sweet potato or sharkarkand halwa is famous during fasting.
Ingredients For Sweet Potato Sheera Recipe :
2 kg Boiled Finely Chopped Sweet Potatoes.
1 1/2 Litre Milk.
300 gm Sugar.
100 gm Ghee.
1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder.
5-6 Almonds.
Step by Step Procedure for making Sheera Recipe :
STEP 1.

First of all chopp all the potatoes finely, Heat Ghee, when it gets heated add add milk in it.

STEP 2.

Now in this add sugar and stir it nicely, now add chopped sweet potatoes and stir it continiously and mash it with spoon so it can become thick.

STEP 3.
Now add Cardamom Powder in and cook it for 8-10 minutes so it can be nice and thick Paste.

STEP 4.
After 20 minutes it is ready so garnish it with Some almonds.
