Most of the Indian street food or Indian fast food are very cheap and very easy to make, today I am going to show you how to make regular vada pav with Guajarati twist and it will be very good for you to know the new recipe as well as to give a Gujarati Twist to your regular recipe. I’ve been traveling in Indian city since last 2 years, I learnt a lot from the expert who are making Indian street food and other fast food since last 20/30 years or more so it is really very good for me to know the recipes and some method which they are using since they begin their food business.

I always try to share something new, something interesting, something very original which is come from the original place and maybe from generation to generation. I have visited many places and food shop and food cart in Indian cities and from there I learnt techniques to make each and every recipe original simple and most delicious like ever before. Now you can find the Vada Pav Recipe in almost each and every foods shop or food card and even may be in the restaurant, they are offering very huge range of Vada Pav  like Cheese vada pav, Grilled vada pav, Jain vada pav,etc.

3 Pav.
200 Gms Roughly Chopped Boiled Potatoes.
100 Gms Besan or Gram Flour.
1 Tsp Mustard Seeds.
4-5 Chili Rings.
Pinch of Soda Bi-carb.
1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder.
Some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves
1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds.
Salt to taste.
8-10 Curry Leaves.
1 1/2 Tbtsp Oil.
Oil For Deep Frying Vada.

  • 3 Pav.
  • 200 Gms Roughly Chopped Boiled Potatoes.
  • 100 Gms Besan or Gram Flour.
  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds.
  • 4-5 Chili Rings.
  • Pinch of Soda Bi-carb.
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder.
  • Some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves.
  • 1 1/2 Tbtsp Oil.
  • Water.
  • Oil For Deep Frying Vada.


  • Take a mixing bowl add Gram Flour, pinch of Soda Bi-carb, Salt accourding to taste, mix it very well, add water and first make thick better and then make it thin, so our better is ready.
  • Heat around 1.5 tbsp of Oil for making potato mixture, when Oil get heated add Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves, Turmeric Powder and immediately put the Potatoes and Salt.
  • Stir all the things very well so our Potato Mixture is ready, turn the heat off.
  • In a pan heat Oil for deep frying mean while make the Balls from Potato Mixture, try to make equal size and shape Balls.
  • Take a ball deep it in Better nicely, remove the access Better and fry it untill it get's Golden Brown and Crispy from out side. when it is cooked take it out in a plate with kitchen napkin so it'll absorb the access Oil.
  • Put all Chilly Rings into better and then fry it in same Oil, take it out when it is half cook because we'll fry it second time to make it Crispier, again fry the Chilly Rings untill it get's Golden Brown and Crispy.
  • Take it out Drain all the access Oil and turn the heat off.
  • Take a Pav cut it form a corner to end with Knife, put a Vada in it, press the Pav so you can get equal Vada in every bite.
  • So this is it our Vada pav is ready to serve. You can serve this with Green Chutney or Tomato Ketchup.


Hello friends welcome to the World’s first youtube cooking show from a Village. I am Nikunj Vasoya and today I am going to show you a very special and one of the most popular Indian fast food which is known as Vada Pav, I believe that this Vada Pav Recipe is no.1 Indian Vada Pav which is available now at all major Cities of India and just people love it. It will be really very good for me to say this recipe because I have travelled many Indian Cities so I saw the experts cooking in their kitchens, in the Street Food Shops and Restaurants, I know some of the secrets of making good Vada Pav so today I am going to share with you and I am also going to share another thing which we specially Gujarati peoples likes to serve in Gujarat. so let’s take a look at ingredients one by one.
Here I have 3 Pav but you can have according to your need, one Pav means one Serving, 200 gm Boiled Potatoes and I have Roughly Chopped it, 100 gm of Besan or Gram Flour, 1 tsp of Mustard Seeds, Chilly Rings of 4-5 Chilies, you may think why I am taking Chilly Rings but I will tell you later on when we’ll start recipe, Pinch of Soda Bi-carb, half tsp of Turmeric Powder, some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves, half tsp Cumin Seeds, Salt to taste, 8-10 Curry Leaves, 1.5 tbsp Oil for the Potato mixture and you’ll need Oil for deep frying the Vada and some Water. Let’s start making the Vada Pav.
First a fall I am going to make Better for Vada, add Gram Flour into the mixing bowl, make sure that there are no big Cungs of Gram Flour in it so we can make very nice Better, in this add Pinch of Soda Bi-carb, little Salt according to taste, mix all Ingredients very well, add the Water firstly add some tbsp of Water than according to need, we don’t need either thick or thin Better, so you have to remember this thing, first combine the all the Flour and Ingredients then we’ll going to make the Better thin according to our requirement, mix it very well so there will be no lungs, see everything is combined nicely, I am adding Water to make it thin, add more Water if you think that Better is thick but don’t add too much Water, see you’ll need this kind of Better neither thick nor thin, it is combined very well and it is perfect for the Vada, keep the Better a side.
Now I am going to make our Potato Mixture for this I am going to heat 1.5 tbsp of Oil, our Oil has get heated so I am going to add Mustard Seeds in it, you will need lots of Mustard Seeds in Bombay Style Vada Pav because it gives very good flavor to your Potato Mixture, Add Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves, Turmeric Powder and immediately put the Potatoes, Turmeric will give the good Color and Flavour to Potato Mixture, add some Salt, Turmeric is very necessary in this because it will add very unique flavor to Vada, in Bombay Style Vada Pav you’ll need very Yellow Color Potato Mixture which is naturally made from Turmeric, it is really very good to know about it, I learnt it from experts, they adds the lot’s of Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds and Turmeric in it so it gives very good flavor to Vada, if you want to make perfect Vada Pav than you have to make your Potato Mixture at least half hour before making the Vada so it will add really good fragrant to Potato and it will be really best Vada, Bombay style Vada Pav, now our Potato Mixture is ready so I am turning the heat off and add some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves in it, let it cool down than we’ll start making Vada from it, you have to mix everything nicely so you can make nice Balls or Vada from it, see like this way you have to mash your Potatoes.
First a fall I am heating Oil for frying the Vada’s and mean while we are going to make Small Balls from Potato Mixture so you have to mix your Potatoes this way so we can make nice Balls from it, now take mixture in hand and make the Balls I am making some little bigger Balls so we can get very nice and good flavour of Vada in our Vada Pav, keep it in a another bowl press very gently with the fingers so we can get equal and nice shape Balls, check your Oil like this way if Flour coming out very quickly then it’s ready and you can fry your vada in it.
Take one Ball cover it nicely with Better and remove the access Better like this way, stir the Vada like this so it cooks nicely every side, when your Vada looks Golden Brown then you have to take this out, it is perfectly cooked, you can see each Vada is crispy from outside and you can also see the Color, now I am going to take this out in a plate with kitchen napkin so it absorbs the Oil, we are going to fry this Chilly Rings and we’ll serve this with our Vada Pav, at many places of Gujarat they serves it with Vada Pav, it really goes good with Vada Pav, I personally like this very much, put all Chilly Rings in Better, cover all Chilly Rings with Better nicely and remove the access Better from it, we have to be very careful while putting the Chilies in Oil, I am going to make it very crispier so I am taking it out, it is not perfectly cooked, I’ll cook it second time so it become nice crispy and Golden Brown, reduce the heat and let it as it is the drainer so we can cook it again very soon, now put the Chilies again into the Oil for frying so it get crispy, just give it rest for 1-2 minutes and fry again, it can be nice crispy and Golden Brown, it will add very good Texture to the Vada Pav, now it is perfectly cooked, I am taking this out and turn the heat off, drain all the Oil.
You have to cut Pav from the edge so you can turn the knife through the end so we can put Vada into it, you have to make bigger space because we have make our Vada bigger, now put Vada in like this way, you can also put Garlic Chutney with this if you want but I am going to serve as it is simple and just with tomato ketchup, you can also serve it with Green Chutney but I am serving with crispy Green Chilies, so this is it my very simple, easy and delicious Vada Pav is ready to serve.
You have to press your Pav this way so you can have the equal Vada in your every bite, very good Aroma of Potato Mixture and it is really very good, I am sure that no body going to believe that you have cooked this Vada Pav Recipe at home if you follow this recipe properly, now I am going to show you why I had make this Chilly because it goes really very good with this Vada Pav, it is very crunchy it adds really very good texture to Vada Pav Recipe, if you are making little spicy Chilies than it will really very good because we Indian love spicy food, you can serve it with Chutney of your choice or just Tomato Ketchup.
