Daliya Khichdi Recipe | Healthy Daliya

  • 200 gm Daliya or Broken Wheat.
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion.
  • 1 Finely Chopped Tomato.
  • 1 Finely Chopped Carrot.
  • ½ Finely Chopped Capsicum.
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Chilli Paste.
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala.
  • ½ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
  • Salt according to taste.
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds.
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves.
  • 3 tbsp Oil.
  • Dry Red Chillies for Garnishing.
  • Tomato Flower for Garnishing.


  • First of all heat oil in a nonstick kadai then add in mustard seeds and let it crackle, when mustard seeds starts crackling add in chopped onions and carrots, cook it till onions become golden brown and carrots get soft.
  • Now add in chopped capsicum and daliya or broken wheat and saute for about 1-2 minutes, after 2 minutes add in turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala and mix well with dalia.
  • Now add in chopped tomatoes and water as per required and lower the heat, cover and cook khichdi for about 12-15 minutes, stir in between so it don’t stuck to bottom.
  • Now take a round bowl or container first put coriander leaves then put daliya khichdi, now un-mould it and garnish it with tomato flower, dry red chillies and serve hot.
