  • 20 gm Makhane Divided into two Parts.
  • 120 gm Green Peas.
  • 80 gm Mava.
  • 2 Tomatoes 1 Inch Ginger Paste.
  • 1 Green Chilli Cut into Two Parts.
  • Around 25 Cashew Nuts Divided Into Two Parts.
  • Around 1 tbsp Raisins.
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala.
  • ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
  • ½ tsp Fennel Seeds Powder.
  • ½ tsp Coriander Powder.
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds.
  • 1 Pinch Asafoetida.
  • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder.
  • Pinch of Sugar.
  • Salt According to Taste.


  • First of all heat oil in a kadai, when oil get lightly heated put cashews in it and fry it for just 30-40 seconds, now fry the makhane in same oil on a high flame for just 30-40 seconds.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, when it gets heated add cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, fennel and coriander powder, red chilli powder, cardamom powder, tomato ginger paste and green chilli, stir it well, cover it and cook it little.
  • When tomato paste get cooked add mava , mix it well cover it and cook it little so mava get melted, stir it well then add green peas and salt as per the taste, again stir it well.
  • Again Cover it and cook it for 1 minute, now add little water, garam masala and raisins, mix it well, when water starts boiling add fried makhane and cashews, mix it well cover it and cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Now add pinch of sugar, stir it well again cook it for 1 minute, now turn the heat off, delicious matar makhane is ready, serve it hot with roti chapatti or any other Indian bread.
