Khandvi Recipe | Gujarati Besan Snack

Quick and Easy Khandvi Recipe.

  • 1 Cup Besan or Gram Flour.
  • 1 Cup Curd add 1 cup water to make it thin.
  • 1 tbsp Grated Coconut.
  • ½ tsp Ginger Paste.
  • 2-3 Pinch of Turmeric Powder.
  • 1 tsp Oil.
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds.
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds or Rai Dana.
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves.
  • 2 Pinch of Asafoetida.
  • Salt according to taste.


  • First of all add water in curd and mix it well, take a mixing bowl add curd and gram flour and mix well.
  • Now in this mixture add little more water, turmeric powder, ginger paste and salt, mix all the things well, make sure that there should be no lumps in mixture.
  • Heat a thick bottom pan, add oil then put the mixture in kadai and stir continuously, cook it for few minutes.
  • When mixture becomes little thick lower the heat and cook it for 10-12 minutes then it will become required thick consistency, don’t cook it too much otherwise khandvi will not be thin.
  • Now put the mixture in 2-3 plates to make thin layer just like dosa and spread it with spatula.
  • Let it rest for 15-20 minutes then after it will become dry and thin layer, now with the help of knife cut it into 6 inch long and 2 inch wide strips, now make the rolls from strips and put into a plate.
  • Now heat oil, add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds starts slathering add green chillies and cook it till become light golden brown.
  • Now add sesame seeds and turn the heat off, tadka is ready, with the help of spoon put this tadka on every khandvi, garnish it with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
