  • 2 Cup Cooked Boiled Basmati Rice.
  • 1 Onion Slices Chopped.
  • 1 Small Finely Chopped Tomato.
  • ½ Cup Tomato Puree.
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind Pulp.
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds.
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds.
  • 2 Dry Chillies.
  • 1 Star Anise.
  • 1 Bay Leaf.
  • Few Curry Leaves.
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder.
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder.
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder.
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder.
  • 2 tsp Sambar Masala.
  • Salt to Taste.
  • 2 tbsp Oil.
  • Few Chopped Coriander Leaves.


  • First of all heat oil in a non stick pan, once oil get heated add cumin seeds and mustard, give tadka to it.
  • Now add dry red chilli, star anise, bay leaf and stir it well, now add onion, curry leaves, stir it well and cook it till onion become soft.
  • Now add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, sambar masala, salt and tamarind pulp, mix all the ingredients well and cook it for few minutes.
  • Now add cooked rice gently, mix it slowly-slowly and cook it for 3 minutes.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves and enjoy.
