First of all heat oil in a non stick pan, once oil get heated add cumin seeds and mustard, give tadka to it.
Now add dry red chilli, star anise, bay leaf and stir it well, now add onion, curry leaves, stir it well and cook it till onion become soft.
Now add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, sambar masala, salt and tamarind pulp, mix all the ingredients well and cook it for few minutes.
Now add cooked rice gently, mix it slowly-slowly and cook it for 3 minutes.
Garnish it with coriander leaves and enjoy.
