Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Soaked Whole Masoor.
  • 2 tbsp Peanut Oil.
  • 1 Big Finely Chopped Onion.
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste.
  • 1 Chopped Large Tomato.
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander Leaves.
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder.
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder.
  • ½ tsp Cumin Powder.
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala Powder.
  • 1 tsp Goda Masala.
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
  • Salt to Taste.
  • Few Coriander Leaves for Garnishing.

Instructions

  • First of all heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, when oil gets heated add finely chopped onion, stir and saute it on a medium flame till the onions start to turn transparent.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw aroma of ginger garlic goes then add chopped tomatoes, saute till they soften and become pulpy.
  • Now add turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder, stir and mix well.
  • Now add chopped coriander leaves, soaked masoor dal and season with salt, stir well, cook the usal on a low flame with a lid for 5-6 minutes. (If you feel dal not soaked well add less water and cook till all the water evaporates).
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve akkha masoor hot with some soft chapattis or jovar rotis or steamed rice and enjoy.
