  • ½ tsp Coriander Seeds Powder.
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder.
  • Pinch of Asafoetida.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Oil.

  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pressure cooker, when it gets little hot add carom seeds and saute it for little time.
  • Add asafoetida and wait for carom seeds to crackle, when it started crackling add turmeric powder, coriander seeds powder, fennel seeds powder and red chilli powder.
  • Mix all the ingredients very well.
  • Now add cluster beans and saute it little then add salt according to taste and again mix it very well.
  • Now add around 1 tbsp of water and tighten the lid and let the steam build, when steam is full, lower the gas and don’t let the whistle blow.
  • Keep on the low flame for a minute and then turn off the gas. Wait till the steam escapes on its own, do not manually release it as the beans are still getting cooked in that steam.
  • Once there is no steam left (it takes about 5-10 minutes), open the cooker and mix it well, add curd and again mix it well.
  • Switch on the gas and saute it till excess water evaporates so the dish will be moist not wet, when you see the shine on beans turn the gas off.
  • So this is it delicious Gawar ki Sabji is ready to serve.
