First a fall heat around 1 tbsp of Oil, when Oil get Heated add Mustard Seeds first, when mustard seeds starts popping add Onion, now add pinch of Turmeric Powder, Garlic and Ginger Paste, Red Chili Powder.
In this put Tomatoes and Finely Chopped Green Chillies, Sugar around 1/2 tsp, Garam Masala, stir this very well.
After cooking this spices for 20-30 seconds, add Dal, put very little salt in it. Now turn the heat off because it is almost ready, take this out in serving plate.
Take another pan and heat around 1 tbsp of Oil, when Oil gets Heated add Pinch of Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves and 2 Dry Red Chillies and also add Pinnch of Asafoetida ( Hing ) in it.
